To create a partition on internal and external hard disks many free software are available on internet.If you are using Windows 7 or Windows 8 than there is no need of any other software to make a partition. You can create partition of any hard disk external or internal by the use of Windows 7 or Windows 8 operating system. So to create Partition/ Partitions in Windows 7 or Windows 8 follow these steps…. Go to ‘Start ’ button and click. Go to ‘ Computer ’ and ‘ Right’ click, and select/click ‘ Manage ’. “ Computer Management” window will pop up. Select “ Disk Management” from the left panel. The corresponding window will open to the mid panel of the window. Here you will find your hard disk details. In the top window part it shows the volumes of your hard disk and “ Layout “, “ Type “, “ File System “, “ Status “, “ Capacity” and “ Free Space ” etc.of all connected hard disks to the system In the lower part of the window it shows the disk with number like “ Disk 0“, “ Disk 1” … The number attach to disk shows different hard disk attach to the computer. But the ‘Disk 0’ shows main disk in which windows operating system is installed. If there is only one hard disk attach to your system then only “ Disk 0” will appear Put your cursor on a desire hard disk partition where you want to create a partition and ‘ Right’ click and select ‘ Shrink’. I am creating partition on “ Disk C “. It will show free space available to that particular hard disk partition after few second or minutes according to your partition size. A small window will pop up. The available maximum space is shown in the “ Size of available space/shrink space in MB: ”. You can type size of your new partition below or equal to maximum space in the “ Enter the amount of space to shrink in MB:” region, & then click “ shrink” button. Now it will create a new partition without a disk letter named as “ unallocated “. So “ Right” click on the new unallocated partition & select “ New Simple Volume.. ” Click “ Next” button two times and then select a letter from drop down list as you like. Now write a name to the partition or leave as default with name “ New Volume ” and click “ Next” button, then “ Finish “. That’s it, you have created a partition..........@bhi
